Bio


Ven Locklear’s art is an array of strange creatures, epic fantasy scenes, and surreal characters. He currently creates concept art and illustrations for art company Liquid Development in Portland, Oregon, working on games ranging from Farmville to Halo 5, and with companies like WB Games, Zynga, Disney Interactive, 343 Industries, and Bethesda. Previously, he was the concept artist at Triptych Games in Plano, TX, which developed the Borderlands 2 expansions “Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty,” and “Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt.” During his time there, Ven concepted creatures, enemies, vehicles, bosses, weapons, and props, and helped create 2D icons, textures, and FX.

Ven graduated with a BFA in Illustration from Pacific Northwest College of Art. His other design experience includes a concept art internship with industry veteran Scott Easley, and a six month graphic design job in Morocco at Al Akhawayn University. His art has also found its way onto guitars, skis, tables, and albums. When he isn’t drawing, you might find him producing music, experimenting with international cuisines, or wandering in the Oregon wilderness.
